Ingredients.
3 cups plain flour
4 tablespoons xylitol sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Pinch of salt
2 cups of warm milk
1 tablespoon dried yeast
1/3 cup warm water
Instructions.
1 . combine warm milk and dried yeast in a cup. Stir well to combine, then cover with cling film and leave to rest for 10 minutes.
2. In a bowl, sift in flour, then add salt, nutmeg and sugar. Now, add the yeast and milk plus the water into the bowl of flour.
3. Mix all until well combined. Cover with cling film and a tea towel, then leave in a warm place for the yeast to act. Leave in a warm place for 45 minutes to an hour.
4. Heat up oil for deep frying. Once heated, scoop in the puff puff batter, either with your hands/fingers or ice cream scooper (whatever works for you really).
5. Fry until golden brown. Enjoy.
Thanks foodace for the recipe. I have never tried using milk for my puff-puff. But I sure will from now on.

DeleteHi foodace. Can I use self raising flour instead? That way I skip the yeast and swap the plain flour? If yes, what quantity?
